当设计需要大变形时跳过它——在相同直径等级下,螺旋弹簧的行程是波形弹簧的数倍——或者当载荷是恒力工况,更适合碟形堆叠或经过适当端部处理的定制压缩弹簧时。如果冲击或极高循环次数占主导,在假设波形能匹配圆线螺旋之前审查疲劳情况;波峰处的应力集中需要大半径,有时需要喷丸。
