弹簧表面处理与电镀:锌、镍及防腐蚀保护

弹簧进行电镀或涂覆只有一个原因——防腐蚀——因为裸露的碳素弹簧钢在潮湿空气中几天内就会生锈,而锈蚀是疲劳失效的致命因素。镀锌是低成本默认选择(典型厚度5–12 µm,带黄色或无色钝化);镀镍增加硬度和更洁净的外观;而对于必须绝对不腐蚀的弹簧,不锈钢或铍铜则完全无需电镀。高强度弹簧需要额外一条规则:电镀后需进行氢脆消除烘烤,通常在出槽后数小时内于190–230 °C下进行。

电镀——锌、镍、镉——在弹簧表面产生氢气,而高强度弹簧钢可能吸收氢气。氢使钢变脆,弹簧可能在数天或数周后以远低于实际负载的条件下突然断裂,通常没有任何可见预警。标准的应对措施是烘烤步骤,通常在190–230 °C下进行数小时,并应在电镀后尽快开始——行业指南通常建议在数小时内,且务必在任何后续加工之前进行。抗拉强度大约超过1,200–1,400 MPa的弹簧(包括大多数琴钢丝弹簧)是敏感件,某些规范完全禁止对其电镀,而倾向于采用机械镀、锌片涂层或不锈钢。
