CNC加工中钛合金与钢的对比:速度、刀具磨损与成本

简短回答:钛合金的切削速度约为钢的三分之一到一半,刀具磨损速度快三到五倍,每公斤成本高出数倍,因此一个钛合金零件的成本可能是钢制零件的三到十倍。它通过减重40%、优异的耐腐蚀性和高温下的高强度来证明其溢价。只有当重量、耐腐蚀性或生物相容性真正需要时,才应选择钛合金;对于其他所有情况,精心选择的钢材在每元成本上更快、更便宜、更强。

为什么钛合金难以加工

钛合金难以加工有三个物理原因,都与硬度无关。其导热系数低,约为7 W/m·K,而钢约为50,因此切削热量无法通过切屑或工件散失,而是集中在刀具刃口使其变钝。它在切削温度下化学活性高,容易与刀具焊接,导致积屑瘤和突然崩刃。而且其弹性模量低于钢,会从刀具上弹开并摩擦,既恶化表面质量又产生更多热量。这些因素共同使钛合金成为一个伪装成切削问题的热问题。

想象热量的去向会有所帮助。在钢中,大部分切削热随切屑排出,因此刀具刃口相对较冷。在钛合金中,由于材料无法导热,更大比例的热量留在刀具和工件中。因此刀具刃口温度高到足以软化并与被切削金属发生反应,这就是钛合金刀具磨损由温度而非磨料磨损驱动的原因。任何降低刃口温度的改变,如更高压力的冷却液或更锋利的刃口,都会立即见效。
