LED热管理:结温与寿命

简短回答:将LED结温保持在约85–105 °C以下,大多数功率LED可达到其额定L70寿命50,000–100,000小时;若结温高出20–30 °C,预期寿命可能下降一半至三分之二。由于LED光输出和寿命均随温度退化,结温是将热设计与保修成本联系起来的唯一数字。一个效率为50%的50 W LED模块会向散热器释放25 W的热量,这些热量必须通过通常为0.5–2.5 K/W的结到空气的热预算传递。

与白炽灯相比,LED效率更高,但它们并不冷。中功率LED仅将输入功率的30–50%转换为光,其余部分是在几平方毫米的芯片中产生的热量。这使得LED封装成为电子设备中热密度最高的热源之一,也是为什么决定灯具寿命的是结温而非环境温度。

结温实际控制什么

结温Tj是LED芯片中最热的点。有三件事会对其作出响应。光输出随温度下降,通常当结温在100 °C运行时,与25 °C相比,光通量损失3–10%。颜色偏移:荧光粉转换白光LED的CCT随芯片加热而漂移。寿命崩溃:流明维持率遵循阿伦尼乌斯型加速,这就是为什么行业寿命数据总是在特定Tj下引用。大多数制造商在参考结温(如85 °C)下公布L70寿命,一个常见的经验法则是Tj每升高10 °C,剩余寿命大约减半。

最后一点值得强调。一个散热良好的灯具在Tj 75 °C与一个边缘的灯具在Tj 105 °C之间的差异不是微妙的30%效应。在典型的加速因子下,热的那个可能在额定时间的一小部分内就无法达到其L70目标,这正是“100,000小时”LED路灯在第三年就变暗的原因。真实的寿命声明来自LED封装的LM-80测试和TM-21外推,而这两者仅在您的散热器实际提供的结温下有效。

从Tj向下构建热预算

LED的热设计从结开始并向外进行。预算为:

Tj = Ta + P·(Rth j-c + Rth c-s + Rth s-a)

其中P是热量(瓦特),Ta是环境温度,Rth j-c是数据手册中封装的结到壳热阻,Rth c-s是LED封装与散热器之间的界面,Rth s-a是散热器的壳到环境热阻。以30 W COB模块效率33%为例:20 W热量,Rth j-c为0.5 K/W,良好的导热垫为0.3 K/W,您需要散热器加气流来覆盖其余部分。

尝试极端情况下的计算。20 W热负载,Rth j-c 0.5,垫0.2,自然对流散热器1.5 K/W,得到Tj = Ta + 20 × 2.2 = Ta + 44 °C。在40 °C环境温度下,结温为84 °C,正好在舒适边界。将热负载提高到30 W或环境温度提高到55 °C(封闭路灯外壳),同样的堆叠会超过100 °C。这就是为什么LED散热器选型是计算,而不是尺寸猜测。

热结导致的失效模式

结温不会在神奇的数字下突然杀死芯片,但几种失效机制会随温度加速。荧光粉退化使白光LED变暗并偏移颜色。芯片贴装和板连接处的焊料疲劳随热循环幅度增长,因此一个运行热且昼夜循环的设计比一个稳定温暖的设计对焊点施加更大的热应力。LED驱动器中的电解电容每升高10 °C寿命大约减半。在最坏的情况下,会发生失控失效:如果热路径退化,Tj升高,效率下降,更多输入功率变成热量,Tj进一步升高。

热失控是为什么用于LED照明的散热器是安全组件,而不是配件。对于户外灯具,阳极氧化铝外壳带密封驱动器腔是常态;BQUQ加工和冲压这些外壳,带有加工的LED安装面,使板到外壳的界面保持平坦和薄,我们对其进行黑色阳极氧化以改善辐射交换。收益虽小,但在上述LED功率密度下,外壳每节省2–3 °C就是结温处真实的寿命。

根据寿命目标确定散热器尺寸

专业的方法是从保修倒推来确定LED散热器尺寸。确定您必须交付的L70寿命,阅读该寿命下的LM-80/TM-21数据以找到最大Tj,然后解预算,求出在最坏情况环境温度和驱动电流下散热器可能具有的最大Rth s-a。典型结果:

这些是指示性预算,不是报价。两个现实世界的修正使大多数设计比简单数学更困难:散热器基板从小板扩散热量,实际鳍片不是100%效率,这就是为什么您应该使用鳍片效率和热阻方法(在其他地方涵盖)来运行数字。封闭灯具内的环境温度也比室温高10–20 °C,因此设计应基于内部环境温度,而不是外壳外的空气。

检查供应商的热数据

可信的LED散热器报价会说明其条件。寻找引用热阻时的热负载(瓦特)、环境温度、数字是否包括TIM以及哪种TIM,以及鳍片的方向。在25 °C环境温度和理想垫下测量的数字无法在55 °C内部灯具温度下存活,而不足不是供应商的错,是规格的错。以每种方式问同样的问题:这个散热器满足什么最坏情况,而不是在什么最好情况下测量的?

第二个检查是扩散故事。LED板相对于外壳较小,因此询问设计假设的源 footprint 和基板厚度。COB模块后面的薄外壳壁会增加扩散惩罚,这是任何鳍片数量都无法揭示的;加工的垫、更厚的局部凸台或嵌入的铜块可以解决。如果供应商无法说明假设的源尺寸,则热分析尚未完成,第一次现场故障将以您的成本教会您差异。

寿命声明值得同样的审查。如果灯具保修50,000小时,询问设计在最坏情况驱动电流和环境温度下保持的结温,并将其与实际LED的LM-80/TM-21数据进行比较。一个结温限制仅超过5 °C的设计是脆弱的;一个有15–25 °C余量的设计能承受灰尘负载、驱动器公差和炎热的夏天。余量是金属花费的地方,而在挤压型材中花费比在保修储备中花费更便宜。

常见问题

问:功率LED的安全结温是多少?

答:对于大多数功率LED,将Tj保持在85–105 °C或以下可保持额定L70寿命;许多数据手册指定Tj 85 °C下的寿命。高于约110–120 °C,流明维持率和荧光粉寿命迅速退化,热失控风险上升。

问:如何测量LED结温?

答:标准方法是电学法:在低感测电流下将LED的正向电压与温度校准,然后在工作电流下测量以推断Tj。或者,使用数据手册值通过Tj = Ta + P × 总Rth估算,或用热电偶抽查外壳并加上数据手册的j-c降。

问:为什么我的LED散热器摸起来只是温的,而结温却很高?

答:因为热预算是一个阶梯。如果壳到空气热阻高,大部分温升在封装内部,散热器保持冷却而结温却在烹饪。热LED上的冷散热器通常意味着界面或封装路径是瓶颈,而不是散热器太小。

答:L70是LED发出初始流明70%的小时数,通过TM-21从LM-80数据外推。流明退化是热加速的,因此L70总是在结温下引用;结温越高,同一LED达到70%输出的时间越早。
