CNC加工胜出的情况

当三个条件同时满足时,铸造的模具费用是值得的。形状足够复杂,从实心材料加工会浪费数小时的主轴时间和大部分材料——中空几何形状、倒扣、薄壁、内部通道。产量足够高以摊销模具——对于典型小五金,交叉点约在200到1,000件,如果零件是不锈钢或钛,棒料成本和加工成本都很高,交叉点会迅速下降。并且合金有可铸造形式——许多牌号铸造良好(CF8M/316L等效、17-4PH、铝A356、C95500青铜),而一些仅限锻造的牌号则不能。铸造加关键表面的少量精加工是不断使用的混合工艺:铸造提供形状,加工提供±0.02 mm的基准面和螺纹。
